Description
The P6500 is a USB smartcard and fingerprint device for use in FIPS 201 and PIV card applications. It uses the HID Global Touchchip TCS1 sensor with Enhanced Image Mode (EIM), giving it the largest fingerprint image for any silicon-based fingerprint sensor on the market.
Its sleek and ergonomic design make it perfect for government desktop applications.

Applications that need to search a large set of biometric data and identify an individual (1:N matching) require a larger fingerprint for comparison. The P6500, with it’s 12.8mm x 18mm sensing area, provides more than enough data for these applications. Combined with our Verifi Identification System (VIS) it can identify individuals from a database of over one million users!

From the layout of the electronic printed circuit board to the metal housing, every measure has been taken to provide the end user with unmatched ESD protection. In addition, special ESD suppression components were included in the design of the P6500 to give it every advantage in this critical area.
